an upgrade that causes import and export buses to only move when the full amount set is available. You would be able to set an amount in the interface similar to the ME interface (prob up to the max move size allowed given the speed upgrades installed). Use case: Automating a Factorization Packager. When items have both a 2x2 and 3x3 recipe and are coming in slowly the current export bus would export items as they come in resulting in the 2x2 craft. With this upgrade the export bus would be configured to 9 of the items and would only export once 9 of the item are availible

Just wanted to clarify that this would not maintain X in the inventory. It would only ensure that each operation is exactly X items

If I assumed the other one it would have been closed on the spot ;) - I'm debating possibilities and stuff with this, any machines you can think of that would also benefit form this, or just the FZ packager? Also this would be a good place for crafting in AE2, as crafting will work differently and be more precise.

Could also be used with TE Magma Crucible or Tinkers Smeltery to ensure you always get liquids in usable amounts

I could also see using this to automate crystal growth in ae. export bus with exact, capacity and redstone upgrades connected to a thaumcraft grate. on pulse it exports say 16 seeds into the water.

I think the benefit in the Packager is clear, but in the others, you might need to elaborate what happens if you dont provide the requested amount. The packager would make a 2x2 first and then a 3x3 thus never reaching your block state. For the time being, using crafting does work, so I still dont see a place for this feature.

say i want to continuously craft plates of multiple types. I export copper and tin ingots into the compressor. I have 9 copper in the system so currently it would export all the copper into the compressor and after the operation there would be 1 copper left in the machine and AE would not be able to add the tin. With the exact bus it would export 8 copper and then start on the tin until there is 8 copper again

it would also work well with the redstone upgrade in pulse mode. that way you could automate import and export of an exact amount per pulse.. think TC alloying

This would also work with external crafting with 9 copper ingots required for 1 copper plate. Not sure why you would want to use export. If you want to transmute all into plates, then having an export > ME Interface (always craft) would be better?

whats TC alloying? you mean TiC? TC is ThaumCraft. In TiC it would be the same, Pattern 2 Iron + 1 Nicke = 1 Invar
